The mines
below are the ones that we have been down. We know some very well and with some
we have only been down once or twice. If you decide to follow our tracks and go
on a trip please bear the following in mind:
There is nothing more
satisfying when exploring in a mine and finding artifacts, as this adds
atmosphere and gives a picture of what has happened in the past or how the mine
was left the last time it was worked - let others have the pleasure of this.
It cannot be stressed enough that artifacts found in the mine should be
left alone and not removed or destroyed. Artifacts removed from the environment
of the mine loose their charm and appeal as they are not in character outside
the mine, they become pieces of rusty or rotten junk that end up being throw
away - a tragic waste and act of vandalism. REMEMBER: TAKE ONLY PHOTOGRAPHS.
LEAVE ONLY FOOT PRINTS.
Each mine has a trip index, with each trip
having a thumbnail gallery, description and image details. The images of the
trip are shown in order from start to finish. Red updates have the latest
trips.
